The Hochosterwitz Castle is still undisputedly the number one tourist attraction in Carinthia and one of the most visited destinations in Austria. The existing lift with chain drive had to be shut down, an economic renovation of the existing system was no longer possible.
The new inclined elevator, which leads over a steep rock face, replaces the old lift and, thanks to its barrier-free, comfortable and safe access to the castle complex, stimulates tourism again.
During the changes in inclination on the track, a fully automatic level control always keeps the cabin in a horizontal position. The glazed panoramic cabin offers space and views for 14 people.
