Inclined Elevator Monberg
Stadt Monheim am Rhein, Deutschland
People-Mover of the latest iCab® generation:
In order to significantly improve the accessibility of the catering facilities on the “Monberg”, ABS Transportbahnen GmbH, in cooperation with HTB Baugesellschaft GmbH, constructed an inclined elevator (lift with an inclined path) and connects therewith the catering building on the “Monberg” barrier-free with the parking lots and access roads. In order to keep the
load input on the existing tailings pile sealing low, the roadway construction is supported on a continuous concrete slab.
The 111 steps of the existing staircase can be overcome from now on with the inclined elevator barrier-free for mobility-impaired as “discrimination-free” access for all citizens /ins permanently and in the use (function and time) self-determined, according to the council resolution of the city of Monheim effortlessly. Especially guests with limited mobility,
senior citizens, families with children will have easier access to the Monberg Plateau and its leisure facilities. This leads to an attractiveness of the gastronomy and event scene “Monberg”.
The inclined elevator with stops, track and elevator technology runs from the bottom stop at the foot of the Monberg parallel along the existing stairway to the top stop. The previously existing, non-functioning stair lift system was dismantled and replaced by the inclined elevator.
